Leesa's grandmother

Leesa's grandmother

Leesa hoped to wear her grandmother's dress, but it wasn't preserved and wasn't in great shape. We salvaged the lace trim from the skirt to use on Leesa's dress.

Leesa found a simple A-line dress and purchased it off the rack. Then she came to us to help her make it look more like her grandmother's dress did.We make a lace bolero and incorporated lace from her mother and grandmother's dresses in the skirt.

Leesa didn't tell her grandmother that her dress was the inspiration for Leesa's gown. So she was happily surprised.

Preserving the collaboration

Preserving the collaboration

Here's a sketch of Leesa's gown along with photos of her mom and grandmother on their wedding day and lace and buttons from their dresses.

The buttons on the back of the bolero are from her mom's dress. The veil was her mom's. We simply remove it from that fancy headpiece and sewed it to a new comb.
